AfriTech Organic Leather social enterprise has a significant social and environmental impact on the community. The enterprise has enabled a cluster of 15 SMEs to adopt eco-friendly technology for processing leather, which has upgraded their traditional technologies to be sustainable. This has resulted in a reduction of waste and pollution and improved the working conditions of workers in the leather industry. Additionally, AfriTech Organic Leather provides training to small-scale leather businesses, which not only improves their technical skills but also contributes to employment creation.
At AfriTech Organic Leather, our mission is to promote environmental sustainability in the leather industry by training and equipping local artisans with the skills to manufacture and supply organic tanning agents. We are committed to establishing a sustainable green infrastructure that supports the growth and longevity of our enterprise, while also contributing to the commercialization of SMEs products. Through our networking and branding efforts, including events and marketing strategies, we aim to link SMEs with local and global markets. Additionally, we seek to support SMEs that share our commitment to environmental sustainability through the establishment of a trust fund that provides small loans to enable the long-term sustainability of their businesses.
